2. Clean and Green Singapore Hackathon

   Venue : NUS University Town, 8 College Ave East

   The National Environment Agency (NEA) is excited to announce the inaugural Clean & Green Hackathon from 26^th to 28^th April 2013. Join developers, environmental activists, creatives and concerned citizens to build solutions that will empower the public to safeguard and nurture Singapore’s environment.

3. National Geographic Channel – National Environment Agency Eco Run

   

   Date: 20th April 2013, 8.30am – 12noon

   Venue : Bishan – Ang Mo Kio Park (River Plains)

   Join us in the Run which is open to youths aged 13-25 years old to run either 2.5km or 5km for the environment. Participants are encouraged to collect recyclable items and invite their families and friends to pledge online to reduce carbon footprints. Awards will also be given to individuals and schools for the most recyclables and pledges collected. To add on the fun, an Eco Concert and Carnival will also take place!

CGS Awards

The CGS Awards recognise grassroots organisations for their efforts to achieve environmental goals in the areas of Public Hygiene and Cleanliness, and Energy Efficiency and Resource Conservation. The qualifying period for CGS Awards 2012 is from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012.

The recipients of the CGS Awards 2012 were selected by an evaluation panel chaired by Ms Grace Fu, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for the Environment & Water Resources, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.

1. National level award: Best Community Achievement

   Award is given to the district, which best meets the challenges of achieving environmental and public health outcomes successfully with strong support and commitment from its community.

   It can be held as the role model in terms of its community commitment and involvement. 

2. National level award: Best Community Commitment

   This award is given to recognise the district that has shown consistency and commitment in their community engagement and outreach efforts in attaining environmental and public health outcomes.

3. National level awards: Best Constituency (Ownership)

   Awards are given to the constituencies with the most effective empowerment of the community in 3P Partnership in achieving environmental and public health outcomes.

4. District level awards

   The CGS Awards recognise grassroots organisations for their efforts to achieve environmental goals in the areas of Public Hygiene and Cleanliness, and Energy Efficiency and Resource Conservation.

   Best Improvement

   Awards are given to constituencies that are deemed to have achieved justifiable improvement in the area of “Public Hygiene & Cleanliness” or “Energy Efficiency & Resource Conservation” in their community as a result of their pro-activeness.

   Best Team Effort

   Awards are given to the grassroots teams which have demonstrated their passion, drive and commitment in spreading the environmental and public health messages through organising, implementing and communicating relevant messages to achieve environmental and public health outcomes within their constituencies. 

   Most Active Constituency

   Awards are given to the constituencies with the most number of activities or events organised in achieving environmental and public health outcomes. 

   Best Cleaner

   Awards are given to the cleaners who have demonstrated pride and commitment in their work by consistently keeping the area under their charge clean and hygienic.
